Technology Note

Active 3D Television

Active 3D televisions use glasses that are battery powered that open and close opposite lenses of the glasses essentially shuttering back and forth. The result is that one eye gets a full resolution full screen display of the information for that eye. The same is repeated very quickly for the other eye. The resolution of the image is 1080 at all times whether one is watching 3D material or 2D material.
